We’re Growing and Strengthening Our Commitment to the ALS Community!
We are thrilled to announce an exciting expansion of our Accessibility Services team, bringing even more expertise, innovation, and hands-on support to individuals and families living with ALS.

Our program now includes a dedicated Assistive Technology Specialist, Shara Holzberg. With an extensive background as a Speech-Language Pathologist in ALS Clinic settings, Shara is widely respected for her clinical expertise and her unwavering determination to find solutions that enhance communication and independence.
Her addition significantly expands our capacity to respond quickly, assess individual needs, implement assistive technology solutions, and provide comprehensive training for families and caregivers. With Shara on board, we are strengthening our commitment to ensuring that every person we serve is aware of and confidently using the assistive technology that is right for them.

We are equally excited to welcome Occupational Therapist, Gioia Ciani, to our Accessibility team. Gioia has worked extensively alongside several ALS Clinics and is known for her skill, compassion, and practical expertise in supporting individuals in the home setting.
Her focus will be hands-on training and education around the safe and effective use of Durable Medical Equipment. This addition enhances our ability to provide experienced occupational therapy support directly to families, helping promote safety, independence, and quality of life.
And there’s more – introducing Weekly Assistive Technology Office Hours.
We are launching weekly Assistive Technology Office Hours — a new opportunity to connect directly with our specialists. Shara and Gioia will be available for scheduled appointments every Wednesday from 1:00–2:00 PM.

These dedicated sessions will provide focused time to address questions, troubleshoot concerns, and explore solutions tailored to individual needs. These office hours are offered in addition to their regular schedule of outreach, engagement, and hands-on work within the community, expanding access while maintaining the personalized support families already rely on.
This expansion reflects our continued commitment to growing alongside the needs of the ALS community, bringing trusted expertise, innovative resources, and compassionate care to those we serve.
